A Pokemon Christmas????

A Pokemon Christmas????

We heard of this tradition a year ago from a family that used to live in our ward. Instead of writing the kids names on their presents, this family picked a theme and subsequent names to write in place of their real names. For example, one year they did the Swiss Family Robinson theme and so each of their kids were one of the characters. Then on christmas eve each person got to pick a present of the person they thought was them. Open it, and see if they were right. We thought this would be a fun way to expand the suspense because some of us are wavering in our belief of Santa. I sense a bog of coal in someones future!!! (I acutally met someone this week who really got coal for christmas!!!) So today I brought down some presents for the kids and put them under the tree, each with a pokemon name on it. Cameron was thrilled and ran over to the tree to see which one was his and to his surprise and frustration, couldn't tell. He then proceeded to run upstairs yelling and banging on everything in sight that he didn't know what this was all about and what do these names mean. He was very upset and can't understand why I would do such a thing. So much for a fun tradition. (I'm still going to do it!!)

That is a great idea. Remind me of that in a few years.. For now I could just write their names and they wouldn't have a clue what it all meant!
