Alyssa's Baptism

Alyssa's Baptism

We were able to have Alyssa's baptism last Saturday morning. It was such a neat event!!! She looked so pretty and the spirit was strong. My favorite part of any baptism is when the person receives the gift of the Holy Ghost because there is an immediate change over them and you can see their glowing countenance. We are so proud of her for her decision to be baptized and for all those who support her in her journey through this life. What a special day!!! We were lucky to be able to have Brad's parents fly in from California which is always a nice treat!! as well as family and friends from close by. After the baptism we took Brad's parents to Charleston. After we got the navigation part down =) we were able to see a little bit of downtown historic Charleston as well as Fort Sumter and the beach. It was a very quick trip but it's always nice to be able to spend time with family. We love you guys!!!!

On the boat ride over to Fort Sumter the seagulls flocked all around the boat and would practically eat out of your hands. This is a picture of a seagul catching a chip that Brad threw out. We even saw a few pelicans trying to get in on the free food. We also had some dolphins swim right past the boat. The kids had a blast watching all the animals. After that we went to the beach for about an hour before we froze and decided to leave. All along the beach we found buried conch shells with the snail (or whatever you call it) still inside. They were huge!!! I had never seen that before. The kids collected probably 15 and were sad when they found out we were not taking them home. But it was too cold to spend much time arguing. We were ready to go!!! All in all it was a fun trip and we were glad to be able to spend time with my in-laws who we don't get to see often enough.
