This is the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. I've always wanted to see Washington D.C. It was FREEZING the day that we went so we stayed out long enough to get pictures and then headed in doors.
We then got to see the D.C. Temple which was all decorated with the christmas lights. My favorite part was seeing the Nativity display. There were nativities from all around the world. My favorite one was a Texas display complete with a texas licence plate for the top of the Stable and a big horn for the cow.
This was our visit to the Smithsonian Aerospace Museam. The kids had fun seeing the space section. One of the displays is a real astronaut suit. The lady wo worked at the sidplay told us we couldn't touch the helmet because the face shield was 24 karot gold plated. Cameron told her that they were crazy for keeping something like that out in the open where someone could just walk up and steel it.
After spending a few days visiting D.C. we decided to drive up to Gettysburg and see the sites. It was very impressive and nostalgiac to see and realize all that happened there. The kids had more fun here than in D.C. because of all the towers and rocks to climb on. The visitors center had a CD tour which was nice because we could drive around and stop when we wanted to.

That is so great that you guys got to go there! How fun. Someday I'd like to see the gold plated helmet that was so carelessly left in the open! (So Cameron! He's wonderful and does have a great heart!) We missed you guys at Christmas, but we're so glad you had so much freezing-cold-fun!
Side note: I am SOOOOO glad that you are doing a blog! I miss you guys and now that we keep in touch with the blog, it feels like your closer!
