I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do. Helen Keller

Last Monday I took the boys on a field trip to Chimney Rock State Park n North Carolina. First we hiked to see the waterfall which was a beautiful hike. All the leaves are changing colors and every now and then you would get a peak at the beautiful mountanside filled with the colors of fall. Nick looked for the biggest leaf he could find on the ground and to my surprise there were some really big leaves!! Cameron was very nervous the whole hike, about someone falling off the side of the mountain. He kept asking Nick and I to walk closer to the mountain because he didn't want to lose one of us. I thought it was thoughtful to notice that we might be in danger. Nick was proud of himself for being able to walk so far. On our way back from the waterfall, we found Moonshiners Cave. This is very small and the three of us were about all the could fit. Unfortunately we didn't have time to walk the tunnel to get to Chimney Rock itself but that will be a have too next time. We then went to Cameron's Tracks and Traces class where we learned about different animal foot prints, owl pellets, and other things that animals leave behind. Cameron got and extra special treat when the instructor gave him an owl pellet to take home and dissect. That is what ended out doing for Family Home Evening that night. It was a great time for the boys and a beautiful place to visit.
