During October we were able to take a family trip to Myrtle Beach. It was a little chilly for swimming but there was nobody there and that was nice. We found a nice inlet to cross and that is were we found all kinds of beach treasures including sea urchins, horshoe crab, star fish, sea sponge, shell seed pod, crabs and tons of shells. It was a little deep (1ft) and Nick just kept reasuring himself that grandma J can catch sharks and crabs and cook them and eat them. To him that made it o.k. He was remembering when grandma J cooked a whole pot of shrimp and crab several years ago. It was funny to hear him self talk his way through it. Alyssa spent most of the time very scared (paranoid) that something was going to bite her feet, Nicholas chased the waves, and Cameron being the scientist that he is- studied every treasure we found. It was a quick three days but just about right for a little fun. Poor Dad spent the three days in training so he missed a lot of the fun but as soon as class was over, we hit the beach. The 2nd day, the kids were inspired to build a sand sculpture. We worked together and made a big crab. Then Nick had to have a sword, sheath and shield sculpture, and Alyssa made a fish.

We fed the fish along the pier and they were all over each other. The ducks couldn't even get close enough to get the food because of all the fish. They would come out of the water on top of the other fish. I was really crazy to see.
